Christine Morrison Hospice – Supporting Comfort and Compassion

Located on the third floor of Mission Memorial Hospital, the Christine Morrison Hospice is a 10-bed hospice residence.

Mission Hospice Society provides 100% of the comfort and compassionate care supports on the hospice floor. Our trained staff and dedicated volunteers are present every day to offer bedside support, emotional care, and meaningful comforts for patients and their families.

While medical care is provided within the hospital setting, it is community support that makes enhanced comfort and family-centred services possible. Donations directly fund the compassionate extras that bring dignity, warmth, and reassurance during end-of-life care — from volunteer support to family comforts and specialized programs.

End-of-life is a deeply personal journey. Because of our generous community of donors, we are able to ensure that every patient and family receives the compassionate presence and care they deserve. Your support helps sustain this vital work.

Patient comfort measures include, but are not limited to:

  • Food and snacks in the pantry
  • Beverages
  • General maintenance
  • Toiletries
  • Laundry services
  • Entertainment options
  • Welcome bears and journals
  • Art supplies and art therapy
  • Magnetic butterflies
  • Support in fulfilling end-of-life wishes
  • Access to a peaceful patio space
  • Seasonal and indoor flowers
  • Memorial flowers

These items and services are funded entirely by donations.  Your support helps us continue to provide compassionate, personalized care when it matters most.

All contributions supporting patient comforts or volunteer services at Christine Morrison Hospice should be made payable to the Mission Hospice Society.

Volunteers work closely with nursing staff, offering comfort, companionship, and a listening ear, both inside and beyond the hospice setting. Whether it’s sharing stories, providing a warm presence, or simply being there during life’s most meaningful moments, volunteers truly make a difference.

Donations in support of our volunteer program help fund essential initiatives, including:

  • Comprehensive volunteer training
  • Ongoing education and workshops
  • Emotional and practical support for volunteers
